Repeat Performance
Though I sometimes use my red shiso in rice dishes, its main
claim to fame in my garden is the beautiful, burgundy-colored
foliage. Since it is a bushy plant, it’s great for covering the
bottoms of leggy flowers like cosmos and hollyhocks. Best of all,
it self-sows with abandon in the same spot each year, providing
an instant planting each summer.
