#2200 Dukat Dill
We selected this variety for its outstanding production of noticeably large, lush foliage before the seed heads form. Beloved for its distinctive flavor, dill is easily grown if you get the timing right. Plant when the soil has warmed, after all danger of frost has passed. Plant in “drills” - small groupings of seeds, thinning to about 4” apart. Featuring blue-green, feathery leaves and chartreuse-yellow flowers, Dukat acts to attract beneficial insects like hover flies, ladybugs and bees. Those ‘good’ bugs will keep your kitchen garden’s aphid population to a minimum while aiding in pollinating your cucumbers, tomatoes, pumpkins and squash. Dukat has a wonderfully mellow flavor and grows between 2’ to 3’ tall. Save some of the seed for using in the kitchen or for growing the following year since Dukat is an open-pollinated variety. You can begin to lightly snip leaves when plants reach about a foot tall. Don’t forget to make your own dill pickles! Annual. (OP.)

Average seed life: 2 years
